Sonoma County might as well go ahead and name the week preceding the Amgen Tour of California as its own Bike Week, with a growing list of events tied to cycling and the race itself.

It seems like the dust has hardly settled on this year’s King Ridge Granfondo and the organizers are already preparing for next year. Registration opens at 9 a.m. on Jan. 17 for the ride, which will be held on Sept. 29.
The “Bike Elves” have started their Christmas drive, collecting used children’s bicycles to repair and give away through the annual Santa Rosa Firefighters’ Toys for Tots program.
